BRAND NEW FOR THE ROC D’AZUR 2003The 4-CROSS is a new discipline at the roc which promises to be both spectacular and attract the media.  Saturday, 11 October will see riders in the qualifying rounds on this downhill trail, full of natural and artificial obstacles (jumps, bumps, banks and graded bends), before battling out the finals on Sunday, 12 October. The qualities required are: the start, clearing obstacles, trajectories and direct confrontation with other competitors. The 4-Cross is open to all bikers (limited number of places) and costs 15 euros to take part. Registration: on the spot, from Thursday, 9 October or via the internet  www.rocazur.com
THE “BALADES DU ROC”The “balades du Roc” will be associating with “Sports sans frontières” in 2003, giving 50% of the registration fees to the association to create a challenge to finance a sport’s project for the young in Bolivia.There are two types of rides:
Free, untimed rides: 66 kms (blue trail) and 100 kms (red trail) of marked routes with refreshment stops. Open to all federation members or non-members, from 12 years.  All types of bikes accepted including tandems.2 to 3 rides, Saturday, 11 October and Sunday 12 October, between 8 am and 10 am, starting from the Fréjus nature base.A semi-timed ride over a 140 kms route: something new for Roc 2003Once more in association with “Sports sans frontières”, the goal of this ride is to create the best time over a pre-defined distance, so that part of the registration fee (100% for the winner) will be given to “Sports sans frontières”.Registration: on the spot from Thursday, 9 October, through the post and via the internet (bank card safe payment on www.rocazur.com or activeeurope.com
