Today, three races opened the 2002 ball: the MID-ROC, the ROC PRO, and the ROC MASTERS. The participants began under a light rain this afternoon. The Atlas team ends their career with a victory thanks to the success of Franck Bailly, French Master Champion 2002 and winner of the French cup. He came to bid farewell to competitive cycling at the Roc d'Azur; "I've finished my season with a victory. This is the confirmation of the entire season. Despite the weather the course was fantastic. His words were confirmed by Nicolas Mazetier, winner of the mid-roc, who is gearing up for Military Cyclo-Cross world Championships which will take place in Luxembourg; " Sometimes we had water up to our knees such as at the passage des guets. Very rapidly we caught up to the Masters (who started 15 minutes earlier). There were traffic jams and it wasn't easy getting through. This rainy day also brought on many flat tires most certainly due to the amount of water.

Tomorrow, things are serious first thing in the morning with the Elite Women's race and French star Laurence Leboucher (World Champion and Roc winner in 2001), who is a grand favorite. The espoirs (U-23) Severine Hansen, Helene Marcouyre and Sandrine Guironnet will fight for the highest step on the podium.

The team presentation will get under way at 17:30 followed by a special BMX show and a trial exposition at the podium at the center of the Base Nature in Frejus.

The trial show originally planned for Friday night at the Frejus arena has been postponed until Saturday night at 21:00 at the same spot.
