Anneke Beerten: World Cup #8 Schladming, Austria

Geplaatst op 21 sep 2009.
This is it, the 2009 season is done. I can look back on a great season. Worlds did not go as planned but this weekends racing here in Schladming, Austria made up for it all.

The track had changed a lot from last season, it was twice as long and had some good mountainbike features in it. From the first day of practice I was feeling good on this track and I was really enjoying riding. I knew I had to do top 5 to win the overall World Cup title. But I still had this fire in me that I just wanted to win this race.
The race just went great, I had good starts and knew my lines. In the final I was lined up in gate 2 and knew I just had to snap the gate.... and I did. Closed the inside door and leaded from start to finish. Crossing the finish line winning was an indescribable feeling. I won the World Cup final round and the overall title 3 years in a row and this was one of the toughest years ever.
Big thanks to all my sponsors, thanks for helping me achieving my goals!! I am only home for 8 hours before I fly out to the Interbike show in Las Vegas. See you there!
