The team at Freecaster.tv are gearing up for the start of the European 08 MTB season but the heat has been pumping all winter long on the Southern hemisphere. Copa Oxford Contrapedal Valparaíso is said to be the biggest spectacle in Latin American based Mountain Biking and judging by the crowds of fans, the event was totally nuts. There was a healthy helping of local talent taking part in the race as well as international stars such as England's Brendan Fairclough and Djone Fornari from Brazil.
The Down Hill race took place on February 17th, at the height of summer and had a special attraction, the race path went through the old Valparaiso jail, as well as pushing the riders through the circuit of almost 2 kms in length with obstacles such as stairs, leaps, wall rides and slopes.
