Setting for this opener was Fort William placed in the beautiful Scottish highlands. Thousands and thousands off people(estimates range between 20.000 and 30.000) lined up next to the slightly changed downhill and 4X courses. Although the weather wasn't at its best today , the race action was. In both the DH and the 4X the level off racing was from an extreme high quality this weekend

Nico Vink made his international debut for team Be One/MadHouse, "he fits in the group really well, he is eager to learn and easy to work with" said team manager Bas de Bever.After everybody had crossed the line Nico walked away with 40th place ,"I would have been happy if I made it in the top 30 this weekend , but the times were so close , one little mistake and you lost another place or two" .
Bas de Bever , started off his 20th year in professional cycling with a 15th place finish in the 4X."I felt really strong this weekend , I only made a stupid mistake in the first turn off the second round and I was out", "And I wasn't the only one who exited early this weekend , all the top seeds didn't make it out of the 3rd round".
These results keep the Be One / MadHouse team in the running for a top spot finish in the overall ranking. Next event will be the 2nd round off the world cup in Les 2 Alpes, France, next weekend.
