Anneke Beerten: European Championships Poland

Afbeelding verwijderd. For the first time in my life I went to Poland for the European championships mountainbike. I had no idea what to expect there. The courses were good and there were a lot of  people cheering us on at the races.

4x
The 4x had a good course. Out of the gate it was really technical and the jumps were close to each other. The last jump of the course was over 12 meters long!!!!  It was a great feeling to do a big jump like that. I qualified in 6th place. In the semi final I was in 2nd position going in to the first turn, I was all the way on the inside of the turn and I had no speed to jump the next double.

DHThe DH was the day after the 4x race. When I woke up Saturday morning I felt like an old lady. My neck and back were really bruised. I did a practice run in the morning but I did not feel to comfortable on the bike. The DH course was fast and just over 3 minutes long. In my final run I tried to ride a bit more aggressive. The top section of the course went really good and smooth. But the last bit of the course I was to stiff on my bike, as a result from the crash a day earlier. I ended up in a 9th place over all.
This week I will try to recover from my crash, and from then on I will be focusing on the World Championships in Les gets France.
Greetings,Anneke Beerten
