On the occasion of the road cycle world championship the international cycle federation (UCI) has announced where the World Championships 2004 would take place. Bad Goisern will be the Start and Finishing Line of next years MTB World Championship, dated on Sunday, July 11th 2004. The Salzkammergut Trophy, Austrian greatest MTB marathon, with the races over 27,47,100 and the spectacular 220 km distances will take place the usual way on Saturday, July 10th 2004.
The organizers are just about to plan a new distance over 100km for the World Championship. The course will run from Bad Goisern to Altaussee and then to Bad Ischl. Apart from condition-robbing rises there will be many technical difficult down hills which make this run definitely one of the most spectacular and difficult ones.
