In the final sprint, Annabella Stropparo (ITA) got beaten by European Champion Leboucher (FRA) and had to settle for 2nd. “I was very anxious in getting a good result at this race. Last year I lost victory because I took the wrong way”, Stropparo said after the race. “Leboucher was very strong today so a final sprint had to decide on who was going to be the winner, unfortunately I lost”. For Corine Dorland a 3rd place was a good result after a season with mixed international results. “Last few weeks I feel strong and this 3rd place gives me confidence for the upcoming cyclo cross season”, said Dorland.
Thijs Al, Erwin Bakker and Davy Coenen battled in the Men’s race for a top result. Thijs Al surprised European and World Champion Absolon (Fra) by finishing 7th overall and 1st in the Men Under 23 category. Erwin Bakker got 14th overall and Davy Coenen 24th. Winner of the Men’s race was, like last year, Thomas Dietz (Fra).
